If you have the decryption key or software, we can restore the data. Without these elements, recovery is still possible but more complex, and in some cases, not possible at all.
Prices vary depending on the type of tape, the backup format, the physical condition, and the volume of data. A quote is provided after the initial analysis, with no obligation.
You can bring it to us in person, use one of our many drop-off points, or send it via a secure carrier. We recommend antistatic and shock-resistant packaging.
We can perform an initial analysis to identify the contents of the tape without needing the original software.
We can generally restore the exact files with their original structure, provided the tape is not too corrupted or encrypted. A raw image can be provided if full recovery is not possible.
Yes, we have experience with many backup formats, including Veritas Backup Exec, Arcserve, Veeam, Tivoli, Retrospect, and others. Even if the exact software is unknown, we can often identify it through a hexadecimal analysis of the tape.
The catalog is what allows indexing the content of a tape: without it, the software can no longer list the available files. If the catalog is lost, it is sometimes possible to reconstruct it from the tape itself, by performing a full sequential read. This process is longer, but we have the experience and tools to recreate a catalog and identify recoverable data, even without the original software.
Even if the software no longer recognizes the tape or if the catalog is lost, it is often possible to extract the data through low-level reading. We analyze the raw content of the tape and can, in many cases, reconstruct the file catalog for selective recovery.
Yes, in many cases. We have readers and software capable of reading old formats, including those rarely used today.
Do not try to force it or open it yourself. Entrust it to our experts: we have the equipment to extract stuck tapes and carry out physical repairs in a cleanroom if necessary.
We handle a wide variety of magnetic tapes, including LTO (Linear Tape-Open), DAT, DDS, DLT, SDLT, QIC, Travan formats, as well as other professional or proprietary formats.
